Watergate Gallery & Frame Design was established in 1986. The gallery was expanded in 2005 offering a beautiful display area for artists. Watergate Gallery & Frame Design is located in the historic Watergate complex in Foggy Bottom next to The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. There is easy access to Georgetown, the West End and downtown Washington. The gallery exhibits a wide variety of art including traditional and contemporary paintings, sculpture, ceramic, wood turning, fiber art and jewelry by local, national and internationally known artists in an intimate and friendly venue.

Watergate Gallery & Frame Design started out as a picture framing business in the 70's and has evolved into a business offering both fine custom framing and a showcase for a diverse group of artists. The current owner, Dale Johnson worked at the shop after graduating from American University with a degree in Art History.

After several years of changes she bought the business and focused on picture framing. As the framing industry grew concentration on preservation framing increased. Watergate Gallery & Frame Design has followed the industry offering high quality preservation framing using acid free materials and ultraviolet filtering glazing on all pieces to be framed. It is our belief that anything worth framing should be handled with the intent of preservation.

As the name Frame Design implies we help you to design a frame in a unique and pleasing manner while being sensitive to your taste and budget.
